This year’s Big East conference tournament starts on Tuesday afternoon (March 8th) in the ‘World’s Most Famous Arena,’ Madison Square Garden in New York City. Below is the schedule for the five days of basketball.

Tie-breaker’s explained:

Pittsburgh earns the #2 seed as the Panthers, West Virginia and Villanova all finished 13-5 in Big East play. In a mini-conference Pitt and WVU were 2-1, splitting with each other and each beating ‘Nova. Pitt’s win over Syracuse back on January 2nd gives Jamie Dixon’s squad the #2 seed.

Marquette owns the head-to-head tie-breaker over Louisville for the 5th spot.

Notre Dame claims the #7 spot over Georgetown by their head-to-head win.

South Florida takes the #9 spot from Seton Hall because of their head to head win over the Pirates.

Cincinnati swept two games from Connecticut to give the Bearcats the 11th seed.
