A fun month of November comes to a close today with one last marquee non-conference match-up for the Big East as Georgetown takes on Missouri at the Sprint Center in Kansas City. Let’s get everyone caught up with the latest around the conference with last night’s action and a look at tonight’s games and more…
MONDAY NIGHT’S ACTION:
Providence 92, Central Connecticut State 57
- The Friars blew open a one-point game at the half by out-scoring CCSU 54-20 in the final 20 minutes. Marshon Brooks scored a season high 26 points as PC erased a first-half deficit of nine points to grab a one-point lead at the half, 38-37. Keno Davis’ squad then blew the doors off the visitors by shooting 64% (21-33) in the second half.
Freshman Gerard Coleman, last week’s Big East conference Rookie of the Week, added 14 points, Duke Mondy 13 and Vincent Council had 11 points, 6 assists and 5 rebounds.
Providence moves to 6-1 on the season. Their lone loss was to La Salle in the Cancun Challenge last week. PC will host Northeastern on Wednesday night ahead of their annual rivalry match-up with Rhode Island coming up Saturday afternoon.

Seton Hall 69, St. Peter’s 49
- Struggling offensively since Jeremy Hazell went down with a broken bone in his left wrist, the Pirates seemed to find their footing in the second half last night during a 69-49 win over St. Peter’s at the Prudential Center in Newark (NJ). SHU outscored the Peacocks 40-29 after intermission, shooting 45% from the field which was a large improvement over their last two games, losses to Xavier and Clemson in the Paradise Jam, where they shot less than 40% in each contest and a combined 7-46 from three-point range without Hazell.
Jordan Theodore led Seton Hall with 11 points off the bench and Jeff Robinson scored 10 in the win. SHU is now off until Wednesday, December 8, when it takes on Arkansas in Louisville, Ky. as part of the Direct TV BIG EAST/SEC Invitational.
