Coming up down the stetch, Louisville has the toughest schedule left to play with St. John’s, Providence and Syracuse to follow. To date, Louisville has played the easiest conference schedule so far.

Tough break for St. John’s and Providence because as of today, they are the two teams looking to be left out of the Big East Tournament at Madison Square Garden along with Rutgers and South Florida. Catching Villanova, Seton Hall and DePaul would be very tough, even though those teams are just one win ahead of them.

Seton Hall has the easiest schedule down the stretch and it couldn’t come at a better time for the reeling Pirates, who have lost five in a row, some of them have NOT been close. Connecticut, Marquette and Notre Dame also close up with light schedules (by Big East standards). Those three, along with Georgetown and Louisville will fight for the four Big East Tournament byes. Louisville has the edge over Marquette, but the tough schedule to close out the regular season will test the Cards. However, expecting them to lose more than two for Marquette to overtake them (since UL handily swept the Golden Eagles) is somewhat of a pipe dream for Marquette fans.
