The end of March is here…
A couple recruiting updates that center around Seton Hall and Florida also have mention of an upcoming visit for DePaul and a player interested in St. John’s. The Providence coaching search seems to becoming into focus this week as a front-runner has definitely emerged.
Also, Louisville, Marquette, Notre Dame, Villanova and West Virginia head into the offseason optimistic about their futures, but still have questions to answer before the preparations for next year can be concentrated on in full.

If your a Big East junkie, there might be too much information for even you to handle today in the News & Notes section below. There are numerous stories on Big East teams, players and coaches as we head to Madison Square Garden for the Big East Conference Tournament. Some teams look back at why they are not going and others prepare for what they hope is a lengthy stay in Manhattan.
There is some rumblings about Indiana possibly looking at a Big East head coach as well as some news on current Indiana commitments looking elsewhere. Also, several Big East schools are showing interst in a recent de-commitment from Harvard. Harvard? Yes!
Early this afternoon we will unveil out Big East Bloggers 2007-2008 season awards. Check back to see who our season-long panel of ‘experts’ have picked as the top players and award winners.

A slew of Big East and other Division I coaches were in the gym at St. Peter’s College Thursday night for “Hurley Night,” a nationally televised doubleheader featuring Danny Hurley’s St. Benedict’s team and Bob Hurley’s St. Anthony team.
The Hurley family came out on top in both games on ESPN and father and son are now a combined 49-1 on the season.
St. Benedict’s handled North Carolina-bound Ed Davis and Benedictine (Va.), 58-44, in the first game, and Rutgers-bound Mike Rosario and St. Anthony knocked off Tyreke Evans and American Christian (Pa.), 64-53, in the second game.

West Virginia got back in the win column last night as they handed Rutgers another loss. Cincinnati will be without one contributor indefinitely as Mick Cronin suspends one of his freshman.
The Big East coaches were not expecting Luke Harangody and AJ Price to be the frontrunners for the conference’s Player of the Year award. Rick Pitino returns to Providence this weekend and is wary of the hot-shooting (potentially) Friars.
Van Coleman runs through the available big man talent pool for the late signing period of 2008. There are a lot of players that Big East schools are monitoring. A pair of Big East commits lead the Nation’s #1 High School team to another win. Will Kelvin Sampson’s troubles at Indiana lead to a mad scramble to land Devin Ebanks…you make the call! Apparently, coach Sampson has made his call…again…and again…and again….

Brian Crownover is the Lead Recruiting Analyst of CAA Insider.com and a frequent contributor to the NBE Basketball Report. Over the weekend, Brian headed from his home in Philadelphia to Trenton (NJ) to take in the action of the Primetime Shootout.
Brian analyzed the performances of committed Big East players such as Jordan Theodore, Lamont Jones, Jeremiah Kelly, Dion Waiters and Darryl Bryant as well as several other major college commitments and future Big East prospects like David Bruce, Omari Lawrence, Kevin Parrom and others from Paterson Catholic, Bishop Loughlin and Montrose Christian.
