Super powers collide on Big Monday as Pittsburgh travels to Hartford (CT) to take on Connecticut in a battle of a pair of teams ranked nationally in the top five. Connecticut, riding an impressive 13-game winning streak, puts that streak on the line in one of two match-ups with the Panthers down the stretch. These two teams will square off once again to close the regular season on March 7th in Pittsburgh.

BIG EAST GAME PREVIEWS (2/15/2009)

The NBE Blogger was 5-0 straight-up last night, but a disastrous 1-4 ATS as the only correct side against the number was Cincinnati, who needed a late, meaningless three to get inside the 16 1/2-point spread. Syracuse had a 16-point 2nd half lead, but couldn’t cover the 4 1/2, UConn had a 10-point halftime lead and couldn’t cover the 9 1/2, Providence had a 20-point lead in the 1st half and couldn’t cover the 11 1/2 and Marquette had an 18-point lead in the last minute and couldn’t cover the 16. Oh well, for entertainment only, right? The NBE Blogger is now 78-19 outright, but a terrible 48-49 ATS this season in Big East conference games.
