We complete our brief capsule look at the Big East conference’s 16 teams heading into the summer today with a look at Villanova and West Virginia, two teams that surprisingly out-lasted the majority of their Big East counterparts in the NCAA Tournament last season. Will they be able to eclipse last year’s successes?
Check out our Villanova Team Page for the snapshot of the Wildcats and our West Virginia Team Page for our look at the Mountaineers.

We continue our brief capsule look at the Big East conference’s 16 teams heading into the summer today with a look at Syracuse and South Florida. Syracuse, as usual, has some impressive talent and players with big reputations, however, that has not produced an NCAA Tournament victory in four seasons. South Florida continues to try and find solid footing to begin a climb up the Big East ladder, they will attempt to move in the right direction with a lot of new faces next season.
Check out our Syracuse Team Page for the snapshot of the Orange and read more below for the snapshot of the Bulls from South Florida.

We continue our brief capsule look at the Big East conference’s 16 teams heading into the summer today with a look at Seton Hall and St. John’s, two teams with coaches under a lot of pressure. Seton Hall looks to close the gap on the teams in the upper half of the conference while keeping those behind them at bay. St. John’s looks to move up the conference ladder as last year’s large group of freshman have a year under their belt. At this stage, it is unclear if either will be successful in doing so.
Check out our Seton Hall Team Page for the snapshot of the Pirates and our St. John’s Team Page for our look at the Redstorm.

We continue our brief capsule look at the Big East conference’s 16 teams heading into the summer today with a look at Providence and Rutgers, to candidates for the most improved teams in the Big East next season. Providence looks to find more success under new head coach Keno Davis and they have a veteran squad to do so with. Rutgers has grabbed the fascination of their fanbase with some strong recruiting in their fertile local area, now they have to begin to translate that off court success onto the court, but a nice foundation has been laid.
Check out our Providence Team Page for the snapshot of the Friars and our Rutgers Team Page for our look at the Scarlet Knights.

We continue our brief capsule look at the Big East conference’s 16 teams heading into the summer today with a look at Notre Dame and Pittsburgh. The Fighting Irish return seven of their top eight players from a team that won 14 conference games last season and they will look to take another step forward. Pittsburgh keeps churning out successful teams and next year could be the best of their recent editions.
Check out our Notre Dame Team Page for the snapshot of the Irish and our Pittsburgh Team Page for our look at the Panthers.

We continue our brief capsule look at the Big East conference’s 16 teams heading into the summer today with a look at Louisville and Marquette. The Cardinals look to reload and will once again factor in the Big East title chase. Marquette should have one of the most experienced teams on the floor, but nearly the least experienced staff on the bench. How will that play in the Big East?
Check out our Louisville Team Page for the snapshot of the Cardinals and our Marquette Team Page for our look at the Golden Eagles.

We continue our brief capsule look at the Big East conference’s 16 teams heading into the summer today with a look at DePaul and Georgetown. The Blue Demons continue to look like a program at the crossroads and Jerry Wainwright will likely feel the summer heat right through the season if DePaul does not show significant improvement next season and more consistency. For the Hoyas, 28 conference wins the last two season have brought Georgetown back into national prominence, now John Thompson III faces a difficult challenge in 2008-2009 with an inexperinced and thin roster ready to battle in the nation’s toughest and deepest conference with tons of returning talent at the disposal of every team in the league.
Check out our DePaul Team Page for our snapshot on the Blue Demons and the Georgetown Team Page for our early look at the Hoyas.

This is the first in an 8-part series that will take a pre-summer look at all 16 Big East teams and get a feeling for where they stand. We will tour through the conference in alphabetical order beginning today with Cincinnati and Connecticut, looking at what each team returns from last season, adds in the form of new players and what they will be missing next year. We will also look at any open odds and ends still to be taken care off as the summer begins.
