It is hard to believe that the NBE Basketball Report, originally the Big East Basketball Report, has been covering the Big East Basketball conference since June of 2005. Now in our fifth full season of covering the greatest basketball conference, we are taking a new and exciting step to bring our readers a more complete experience.

Starting today, February 9, 2010, we are launching a new premium subscriber content portion of our coverage. This area of site content will concentrate on college basketball recruiting and event coverage on the high school, prep, AAU and JUCO ranks.

Over the years we have tried several different revenue producing strategies in hopes of being able to expand our coverage. After careful consideration and learning what does not work, we have chosen to go the subscriber route. The revenue generated from this series of content will be directly put into the site for event coverage, site development and additional content, both free and premium. It will allow us to expand our regular and post-season coverage of Big East Basketball by attending more games and media opportunities with our expanding staff. It will allow us to create better team pages and recruiting databases to improve the experience of the reader as we aim to be the #1 source of Big East Basketball coverage and an industry leader in recruiting coverage of college basketball.

Our introductory monthly membership subscriber fee will be $3.95 a month. We will also offer, for a limited time, an annual membership that can be purchased for $24.95 a year. This will give the subscriber full access to all of our content. It will also allow the reader greater participation as you will be logged in and allowed to leave comments and will be able to receive e-mail news alerts of breaking news in the Big East and with college basketball recruiting.

We will continue to mix in, and grow, our day-to-day coverage of the Big East. The majority of this coverage will be free content as it has always been. The revenue from the premium content will allow us to increase and expand this coverage as well and offer new services and features to Big East fans and all of our readers.

We also wanted to thank everyone who has visited our website over the years and those who continue to do so. We look forward to the future and continuing to grow and carve our niche in the new media world. We feel this is the necessary step in order to do so and appreciate everyone’s patience and patronage as we move forward with the NBE Basketball Report in what should be an exciting future.
