Rashad Richardson led his Kiski Cougars to a huge upset win over one of the nations premier basketball prep programs, Brewster Academy (Game High 29 points) on Saturday night. It was evident in the 6’5 swingman’s demeanor there was something he was out to prove. According to his coaches, Richardson informed them that a local recruiting report in Indiana had him as there #1 prospect until former Indiana signee Ron Patterson (Syracuse-Commit ) decided to take a prep year at Brewster Academy, pushing him to the #2 spot. While they insist there is no personal hard feelings between Patterson and Richardson, Rashad took the match up as chance to prove his worth.

After the biggest surprise performance at the National Prep Showcase, Richardson called his high school coaches Tuesday night and informed them both he and his father would like to reopen his recruitment. Richardson, a virtual unknown outside the state of Indiana, had verbally committed to IUPUI and had plan to sign his Letter of Intent on Monday after the prep showcase. Since decommitting Duquesne, Pittsburgh, Utah, Manhattan and Rutgers have expressed interest in Richardson with IUPUI still in the mix.

Kiski and Richardson also showed Saturday was not a fluke by capping a 2-0 weekend in New Haven (CT) with a 94-86 win over Wayne Seldon and Tilton School on Sunday. The lefty Richardson scored another 23 points in that contest.

The accompanying video are some of his highlights from the weekend.

The Kiski Cougars are not a one-man team by any means. Below are some analysis and recruiting updates on some the teams top uncommitted prospects.

6’11 Satchel Prince (2014) – A deceptively athletic face up F/C with range out to the three point line, Prince caught a number of two handed alley-oops that surprised everyone in the gym. Satchel owns 10+ mid major offers according to his coach and is receiving interest from Ohio State, Kentucky, Indiana, Maryland and Seton Hall.

6’4 Daniel Camps (2013) – Daniel is a powerful wing who can shoot the three, rebound in bunches and put unsuspecting defenders on poster boards if they’re not careful. Daniel is a high academic student-athlete who was offered a scholarship to Miami (OH) but has decided not to sign until the spring. Brown and Tennessee-Martin are the schools recruiting him the hardest as of today.

6’7 Houston Dugan (2013) – Dugan played valuable minutes in the Brewster Academy against an all High major frontline. Houston is wide open right now but should become a hot commodity as big men are hard to come by at this point of the year, a solid low to mid major prospect.

6’0 Dapo Badmos (2013) – A fast and explosive lead guard who can get into the paint almost at will. Dapo is a steal at the D2 level and a solid back up at the D1 level. Recruitment is WIDE open
