Friday was a huge day in the world of high school hoops. In a matter of about an hour on Friday evening, four of the top 50 players in the NBE Sports Class of 2013 Post-July Top 125 made their decisions.

The biggest coup of the bunch was UTEP landing Isaac Hamilton of St. John Bosco (CA). The 6-foot-5 shooting guard and younger brother of the Denver Nuggets’ Jordan Hamilton, Isaac has a chance to be an absolute star for the Miners.

Hamilton is ranked No. 7 in the NBE Sports Class of 2013 Post-July Top 125 and he picked UTEP over schools such as UCLA and UNLV, amongst others. He announced his decision live on ESPNU.

Once Indiana withdrew from BeeJay Anya’s recruitment, it was nearly a foregone conclusion that the 6-foot-8 center would pick North Carolina State. However, that does not make the addition of the DeMatha (MD) star any less significant for the Wolfpack.

Anya, whose commitment to NC State looks to have been broken by Adam Zagoria of ZagsBlog.com, is one of the top post players in the 2013 class. He is ranked No. 21 in the NBE Sports Class of 2013 Post-July Top 125.

Another one of the nation’s top big men in the senior class is Kennedy Meeks of West Charlotte (NC). He too is headed to an ACC school in the Tar Heel State for his college ball, as the 6-foot-9 center pledged to North Carolina.

Meeks selected UNC over Georgetown live on ESPNU. He checks in as the No. 34 player in the NBE Sports Class of 2013 Post-July Top 125.

Tyler Roberson of Roselle Catholic (NJ) is the other top 50 player to make his decision. The 6-foot-8 power forward pledged to Syracuse live on ESPNU. He chose the Orange over Kansas and Villanova.

Roberson is the No. 39 ranked player in the NBE Sports Class of 2013 Post-July Top 125. He became the fourth player—one of whom is in the 2014 class—to commit to Syracuse in the last five days.

Deshaun Morman of Faith Baptist Christian (FL) might not be ranked, but he is still a quality player who also made his decision on Friday. According to Evan Daniels of Scout.com, the 6-foot-4 senior shooting guard popped to Cincinnati. Morman is a native of North Carolina.

ESPN.com’s Dave Telep has reported that Detrick Mostella will sign with Oklahoma State today and Mostella confirmed the commitment on his facebook page this morning. Mostella is a 6-foot-2 shooting guard from Alabama who currently attends La Lumiere (IN). A big-time scorer, Mostella is a superb pickup for Travis Ford.

It was also Dave Telep who looks to have been the first to report that Aaron Gordon has narrowed his list. Telep reported that Gordon, a 6-foot-8 power forward from Archbishop Mitty (CA), is down to Arizona, Kentucky and Washington. Gordon is the No. 2 ranked player in the NBE Sports Class of 2013 Post-July Top 125.

There was also some news out of the 2014 class lately. Keita Bates-Diop of University (IL) pledged to the Ohio State Buckeyes, per Jim Mattson of WHOI. Bates-Diop is a talented 6-foot-7 power forward.
