JORDAN BRAND CLASSIC REGIONAL NOTES

April 17, 2010 by · Leave a Comment

Just like most all-star games, defense was an afterthought in this afternoon’s Jordan Brand Classic Regional game. The squad of Suburban players got past their City squad counterparts by the score of 137-133 at Madison Square Garden in an exciting and often high-flying affair.

Richmond-bound Derrick Williams of St. Anthony’s in Jersey City (NJ) got an offensive rebound and made a pair of free throws with 10.9 seconds left to give the ‘Burbs a 135-133 lead and then J.J. Moore came up with a steal and another impressive slam dunk to ice the contest and finish off the 137-133 win.

Williams finished with 19 points and was the game’s Most Valuable Player. Moore, Fuquan Edwin, Ryan Rhoomes and Kadeem Jack were also among some of the impressive performers in the event.
