Scouting Report: April 2012 – ne of the most dominant performances of the weekend, the only thing keeping Johnson from top billing for me is that his team came up on the losing end. He is a new man after sitting out the high school season at Montverde Academy based on his body transformation. A little overweight throughout his earlier years, Johnson has gotten himself into fantastic shape and his game is reaping the benefits. The near 7 foot behemoth is running the floor with purpose, sealing defenders on the block, and scoring everything inside. He is an absolute monster and perhaps the only player capable of challenging Andrew Wiggins for the top spot in the 2014 class (Brian Bosworth at Boo Williams).
Jan 2011 – Likely to be ranked near the top of the 2014 rankings when they started coming out, Johnson is an absolute man-child considering he is just 14 years old. Unlike some other big men his age, he doesn’t try to be a perimeter player or hang out along the 3-point line. Johnson goes down in the block and gets very good position. He has good hands and can pass out of a double-team if it comes (Jeff Borzello at Hoophall classic).
