Scouting Reports: May 2010 – One of the fastest-rising names on the AAU circuit, Baru could be a dominant big man in a couple of years. He is tremendously athletic and can finish with authority at the rim. Baru is very long, which helps his shot-blocking ability and rebounding prowess. Baru also has a solid mid-range jumpshot, hitting foul-line jumpers with consistency – and a high-arcing release. The most surprising thing about Baru might have been his passing ability. He picked up several rebounds and then had perfect outlet passes to streaking teammates for baskets. Baru runs the floor with the best of them and also can handle the ball in transition. The only questions could be his back-to-the-basket game and his offensive moves; he tends to rely on his athleticism at times (Jeff Borzello at Southern Jam Fest).
