Phil Pressey

Scouting Reports:
July 2009 – Pressey is a very quick point guard with excellent handle who can get to the rim whenever he wants. However, he is somewhat out of control once he beats his defenders and was caught under the rim on more than one occasion. Pressey also has decent range and can knock down threes. Once he contains his quickness, he is going to be tough to guard (Jeff Borzello at Peach Jam).
July 2009 – Seemed ready for the next tournament about halfway through the championship game. Ball handling and passing is at the elite level but seemed tired by the end in Cleveland (seems reasonable for every one of these kids to be tired for the amount of games they play every day on this circuit). Needs to work on his jumpshot but is still the purest ballhandling/ pass-first point guard I saw (Ray Mernagh at King City Classic).
July 2008 – Pressey is small, but has a huge heart with an even bigger area of talent. The guard is quick and can create offensively, making himself the top threat at the point. With a better long-range game, Pressey can take his already exceptional passing game and make it even more deadly. With two more years to go, and not even a decision on any schools, Pressey has plenty of time to find his jump shot, and only continue to improve an already excelled game (Anthony Jaskulski at LJSA).
