Scouting Reports:
-May 2009: Josh Smith can still bully most people around in the post. His 270 pound body is tough to handle for 95% of the world. He proved this weekend that he has a lot of work to do before he equals his fellow Top 10 peers. Smith has to work on his conditioning and his overall effort on the floor. He can beat most of his opponents whether he is tired or not, but not top tier talent. He has the ability to step out and hit the 10-12 footer but otherwise he is strictly a low post player. It also seemed like he deferred to his less heralded teammates when times were tough. Basically Smith is usually a men amongst boys, but he has a lot of work to do before he becomes the #1 player in the country that many people have declared him (Doug Ferguson at Hensley Memorial Run ‘N Slam).
