2010 Pitt commit off to hot start for 2009-2010 season

Cameron Wright and his Benedictine (Cleveland, OH) HS squad got the season started right with a pair of games this past weekend. Friday night Benedictine dispatched their opponent 108-53 then followed that up with a 83-53 win Saturday.

Benedictine is the #2 team in the city of Cleveland and will go up against the #11 team Revere tonight.

Wright, who signed with Pittsburgh this fall, had 24 points in each game. “He’s playing real well right now,” said Benedictine coach Rob Stricula, “he’s been real consistent, under control and getting everyone involved as we had five guys in double figures both nights.” Wright’s team features two other D-1 targets right now in Central Michigan commit Derek Jackson and uncommitted power forward Nick Harney. The 6-7, 215 pound Harney is receiving a lot of mid-major interest as schools wait on his Spring grades and test scores.

Some of the upcoming highlights on Benedictine’s schedule are a December 19th game against their city rival Cleveland Central Catholic and a January 16th game against Findlay Prep in Dayton.

NBE is currently planning to be at both games.
