Plus a few other notes from the Jordan Brand Regional Game
Kevin Parrom is likely to become a very hot commodity in the coming weeks. The South Kent forward, who is originally from NYC, told NBE’s Matt Whitfield after tonight’s Jordan Brand Classic regional contest that he received his release from Xavier of the letter of intent he signed last November.
Parrom indicated he was open to anyone and everyone, but also mentioned schools like Providence, Pittsburgh, Marquette and St. John’s tonight as schools of interest, as well as Xavier.
Earlier this week, Pat Stevens had a Kevin Parrom Update for NBE where sources close to Parorm indicated he would look very closely at several Big East schools once he received his release.
High scoring lead guard Russell Smith of Archbishop Molloy will head to prep school next season at South Kent. Smith already has several scholarship offers, including Providence, St. John’s, DePaul and Rutgers with interest from Seton Hall. Others such as USC, Iona, South Carolina and Tennessee are also involved. Smith was the MVP for the City team, scoring 27 in the win.
Thomas Jefferson senior guard Keith Spellman will join Smith in the prep ranks. Right now he is gathering information to decide on where to attend next season. he indicated the Big East is his favorite conference.
A few other notes from the National Game:
John Wall will visit Miami next week.
Xavier Henry and his brother, CJ, will take a visit to Kentucky and will decide within a week after the visit between Kentucky, Kansas and Memphis.
